Qualified Volunteer Hairdresser – Hospice Patients at Home (Matamata & Morrinsville)

We’re looking for a qualified hairdresser or barber to provide gentle, compassionate hairdressing to patients in their homes.

  • Volunteer for about 3 hours a week in the Matamata/Morrinsville area, with flexible days and times
  • Perfect for someone retired or with flexible work hours.
  • Help patients look and feel like themselves, offering gentle, compassionate care tailored to their needs.
  • Tasks include haircuts, styling, and other hairdressing services, delivered with sensitivity and respect.
  • This role requires someone who can show genuine empathy and sensitivity when working with patients who are very unwell.
  • You will be joining a supportive and caring team and will be making a valuable difference to our patients’ wellbeing and quality of life.

Requirements:
  • Qualified, reliable hairdresser or barber
  • Comfortable providing hairdressing services in patients’ homes
  • Empathy and sensitivity when working with people who are very unwell
  • Friendly, respectful, and able to build rapport with patients

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • Approximately 3 hours per week
  • Flexible with mornings or afternoons, to suit your schedule
  • Ideal for someone who can commit for a few months to support continuity for patients
