Want to Volunteer?

Volunteering Waikato - Te Ohu Tuuao O Waikato works with over 250 community organisations around the region, who are looking for your help.

Here’s how to get started:

• 1. Think about why you would like to volunteer. What would you like to achieve? Who would you like to help? What will you get out of it?
• 2. Check out our current positions. Browse by type of role, location, and hours. Read through the descriptions and requirements of the roles that interest you.
• 3. Register your interest. If you find a role you like the sound of, fill in the form and your form will be sent directly to the organisation.
• 4. Check your emails. You will receive a confirmation email from us with the contact details for that role. Most organisations will get in touch with you via email, so make sure you check your email inboxes (including junk and spam) for the next steps from them.

If you don't hear from the organisation you registered your interest with within two weeks, you can contact them (with the information provided in the confirmation email), or get in touch with us and we will follow up for you.

• ethnicity
• labour force status

We collect your personal information in order to:

• register contact details for engagement with organisations (name and contact information only)
• enable us to follow up on your progress with the voluntary role referrals

Providing some information is optional. If you choose not to enter contact details, you may not be able to register with us and we will be unable to help you with your volunteering requirements.

We keep your information safe by storing it in a protected database and only allowing administrative staff to see it.

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you’d like to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected, please contact us at manager@volunteeringwaikato.org.nz.
