We are looking for a tech-savvy volunteer to help consolidate our digital information. Currently, we have three networked computers, and we need to bring all essential InterlockNZ data onto a single computer while ensuring that each user’s personal files remain intact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transfer and consolidate InterlockNZ data from multiple computers to one central machine.
  • Ensure individual users’ personal data is not lost or affected.
  • Assist with minor troubleshooting related to the data transfer if needed.
  • Document the process for future reference.
Requirements:
  • Excellent English communication skills, as you will be working alongside an older couple.
  • Strong competency in networking, file storage, and separation.
  • Ability to set up a simplified system and teach others how to use it.
  • Privacy and confidentiality are paramount, as you will be handling personal information.
  • Experience with Windows and file systems.
  • Familiarity with data migration, backups, or IT support.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot basic IT issues.
Time commitment:
  • Flexible – task-based.
  • No more than 10 hours over several days.
