Interlock provides opportunities for people with disabilities to develop the confidence and skills to connect with their community.
We offer opportunities on Wednesday and Friday for individuals to connect over a café-style event and a set craft event.
Our whole organisation is Volunteer based, with no paid workers from the Trustees down. Our volunteers are involved in every aspect of running Interlocknz and supporting people with disabilities. We do not do personal care or behaviour management, these are left to the support workers who come with participants.
Our focus is to work with our participants to create their desired end results. We stand beside and help guide with suggestions and prompts, only stepping in to do what they are physically incapable of.
We host social arts & crafts events every Friday, providing a warm space for people with disabilities to connect with others. Through this program, participants can express their creativity, boost their confidence, and create lasting memories together.
Do you have 2-3 hours per week where you can take on the role of Secretary for an established group committed to working with the disability sector and our wider community?
