Craft Day: Every Friday morning, we host a craft day where participants enjoy creative activities designed for everyone to join in.

Volunteer Role: We’re seeking warm and friendly volunteers to:

  • Sit at the table with clients
  • Encourage participation and share laughs
  • Offer guidance when needed

Planning Sessions: On Monday mornings, volunteers gather to plan the upcoming Friday activities.

  • Attendance is ideal but not essential.
  • What matters most is your passion for making a difference and helping participants feel included and empowered.

Who Can Volunteer: We welcome volunteers of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, and beliefs.

If you have time to share and want to enjoy good times with wonderful people, we’d love to hear from you!
This is a relaxed and fun weekly commitment.

Support Provided: Training and support are offered to ensure you feel confident in making a meaningful difference.

Our Story at Interlock: Interlock provides a fun, welcoming, and safe space for people with disabilities.

  • Our sessions help clients, often socially isolated, connect with others in the community.
  • We focus on joy and empowerment, creating an environment where individuals can build confidence, make friends, and explore new skills.
  • With the help of our incredible volunteers, we cheer participants on as they reach their goals, fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere where everyone can shine and have a great time!
Requirements:
  • Engagement: Comfortable interacting with individuals with disabilities
  • Reliability: Dependable with a positive and friendly attitude
  • Training: Availability for 2 hours on Mondays for training and preparation (if possible)
  • Commitment: Dedicate 3 hours on Fridays to support and guide our participants
  • Physical Requirements: Some light bending to empty and refill craft cupboards (trolleys provided)

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • Monday: Preparation with volunteers from 9:30 to 11:30 AM (if possible)
  • Friday: Crafting group from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Commitment: If you can commit to both sessions, that would be fantastic!
  • Flexibility: Even if you can only join us for one, that would be wonderful!
