Each year, Volunteering Waikato – Te Ohu Tūao o Waikato organises volunteers to wrap Christmas gifts at Centre Place and The Base shopping centres to raise funds for operational costs. This festive fundraiser relies on dedicated volunteers, and Gift Wrapping Coordinators play an essential role in its success!
What does it mean to be a Gift Wrapping Coordinator?
Gift Wrapping Coordinators are responsible for overseeing each day’s operations, ensuring a smooth experience for both the volunteers (our “Wrappers”) and the customers. Coordinators start the day by preparing the booth, unlocking and getting the space ready for the Wrappers’ arrival, and ensuring that changeover between shifts runs smoothly.

Why Volunteer as a Gift Wrapping Coordinator?
As a Gift Wrapping Coordinator, you’ll be part of a fun, festive team connecting with other volunteers, experiencing the holiday buzz, and learning the art of gift wrapping- all while promoting volunteering in our community.
Ideally, Coordinators are available for at least three shifts between 10 and 24 December, though there’s flexibility if you’re able to commit to more.

Full training will be provided for this role.

Centre Place: Wrapping runs from December 12th - 24th
The Base: Wrapping runs from December 10th - 24th
Shift Length: Usually 30-60 minutes long
Commitment: Ideally, you can join us for at least three or four shifts
