Are you financially savvy and passionate about making a difference in your community? EquiPotential NZ helps people in the community reach their full potential through the interaction with horses. We’re looking for a dedicated Treasurer to join our team in a long-term volunteer capacity. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your financial skills to support a meaningful cause and help ensure our organisation stays strong, transparent, and financially healthy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate records of income and expenditure
  • Ensuring all donations are receipted and banked correctly
  • Generating invoices when needed
  • Paying approved accounts and reimbursing volunteer expenses
  • Managing payroll through Xero for staff and related expenses
  • Acting as a bank signatory for the organisation

You’ll be supported by a friendly and passionate team who value your contribution and are always happy to help.

Requirements:
  • Strong accounting and financial skills, as well as knowledge on Xero.
  • Be willing to communicate with a team of people.
  • Must be able to attend monthly committee meetings.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • Around 4 hours a week.
  • Attend monthly committee meeting (attended in person or via online).
