Volunteer Kitchen Support – Cook & Prep Assistant
Help us nourish the community!

We’re looking for a fabulous cook to help prepare frozen meals for our foodbank — a vital service that supports whānau in need.

You’ll also lend a hand with basic food preparation for our Café. If you love baking, even better — your skills will be put to good use!

Some general cleaning of the workspace is part of the role, and if there’s no kitchenhand rostered on, we all pitch in with doing the dishes.

Requirements:

Reliable and available once a week (day/time can be flexible)
Must maintain a clear, focused, and responsible approach while volunteering
Has a genuine love for people and a warm, community-minded attitude
Able to work with available ingredients — flexibility is key
A creative flair for making simple meals tasty and appealing
Comfortable with basic food hygiene and willing to follow kitchen safety practices
Works well independently, but also happy to be part of a small team
Physically able to stand for a few hours and help with light cleaning or lifting

Time commitment:

once a week
around 6 hours (day/time can be flexible)
