Get involved this December and Make Christmas Merry with Your Wrapping Skills! 🎁

Christmas shopping can be a whirlwind, but your friendly attitude and gift-wrapping skills can make a real difference in someone’s day!

Join Volunteering Waikato’s annual Christmas Gift Wrapping Fundraiser, where you’ll wrap gifts for the public at Centre Place or The Base. Shoppers can bring their purchases to our booth to have them wrapped for a donation - making Christmas shopping just a little bit easier for people.

This role lets you:

  • Be part of a fun, festive team
  • Meet other awesome volunteers
  • Volunteer for just a few hours - no ongoing commitment required
  • Master the art of gift wrapping

We’d love for you to commit to at least three shifts between December 10th and 24th, but you’re welcome to do more if you like!

Requirements:

Join the Fun with Christmas Gift Wrapping!

To make sure we provide the best wrapping experience possible, all volunteers will need to complete basic gift-wrapping training. If you’re already confident in your wrapping skills, you can choose to opt out.

You’ll be using a mobile EFTPOS machine , don’t worry, it’s easy, and full training will be provided.

  • We’re looking for volunteers who can:
  • Work independently and stay calm when things get busy
  • Provide great customer service
  • Speak conversational English to chat with customers
  • Stand for up to four hours
  • Feel comfortable working outdoors (one of our booths at The Base is located outside the mall)
Time commitment:
  • Shift Length: Generally four hours, with some variations
  • Flexible Scheduling: Wrappers can choose shifts that suit your availability.
  • Options Available: Daytime, evening, and weekend shifts are available.
