Share your talents, experiences, tips, tricks and knowledge with some of our men who are interested in learning about barbering. Your input could very well put them on a new trajectory in life.
This position will require you to work inside the prison in our very own Barber Shop set up at Spring Hill Corrections Facility.
As well as teaching the practical skills necessary to be a barber to our tāne (men), it would be advantageous if you could provide education around health and safety practices and standards in line with work safe and local council requirements.

All equipment will be provided.

Requirements:

We are seeking someone reliable who can relate well to others. This is an enjoyable role that can make a big impact!
You need to be able to communicate well and be respectful of the situation you will be volunteering in.
Barber experience and skills are essential.
We will support you to do your role well.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

1-2 hours a week between the hours of 1pm and 4pm Tuesday and Thursday (some flexibility in times could be possible).
