Do you have a head for numbers and a heart for helping others? Our well-organised, friendly, and supportive committee is seeking a Treasurer to join our ranks. Your expertise will help ensure we can continue to provide our much-valued Riding for the Disabled (RDA) service — supporting people in our community to experience the joy and therapeutic benefits of horse riding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of annual budget and monthly monitoring
  • Preparation of monthly reports and presenting to management committee
  • Preparation of annual financial statements and liaising with Accountant and Reviewer
  • Monitoring cashflows and forecasts
  • Monthly processing in Xero
  • Administration of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Filing with IRD fortnightly payroll returns
  • Maintaining employee records.

This position could possibly be done remotely with information and reports prepared and sent to our President for monthly meetings - even better if you are local and can attend in person!

Requirements:
  • Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance (especially with Xero).
  • Organised, reliable, and detail-oriented.
  • Communicates clearly and enjoys working collaboratively with others.
  • Ideally, able to attend monthly committee meetings (11 per year, for approximately 1-2 hours per meeting).

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • 4 hours per month, to prepare the necessary reports and documents
  • Attend monthly committee meetings, 1-2 hours per meeting (if possible).
