This role requires work with horses and children or adults who live with physical, emotional, and/or intellectual challenges. Riding gives them confidence, grows self esteem, enhances their communication skills and builds relationships.
Your primary responsibly is to lead the horses - the riders are supported by the coach and another volunteer.
We are a very well organised, friendly team who would welcome some new team members.
We require volunteers on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. You must be prepared to work with horses and be able to work comfortably with people who have special needs. You must enjoy the outdoors and have a reasonable level of fitness.
Ideally you have experience working with horses, are friendly, caring and encouraging, and enjoy working as part of a welcoming team.
As our organisation is a health and disability provider, all staff and volunteers will be required to be fully vaccinated against Covid 19.
It takes a while to get to know this role so we would expect you to be in a position to make a minimum 4-6 month, once or twice a week, commitment to volunteering for us.
A minimum commitment of once a week would be ideal.
