  • Our Volunteer Driver Service takes people from their homes to community and health appointments in Cambridge and Hamilton.
  • For instance, to their doctor, hospital outpatient clinic, medical specialist, or medical center.
  • Our service relies on volunteer drivers to safely pick up and drop off our passengers, assist them in and out of the vehicle, offer a smile and a chat along the way.
  • Volunteer Drivers use their own vehicle and mileage is reimbursed.
    (Roundtrip in Cambridge $15 / Roundtrip to Hamilton $30)

Requirements:

If you are friendly and are keen to help, we would love to have you on the team.
No prior experience is required, however there are some essential requirements, you must have the following:

  • Full clean NZ Driver’s License
  • Clean Police record
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Friendly, caring, and compassionate
  • An aptitude for diverse cultures
  • Be physically fit
  • Your vehicle must be registered with a current warrant of fitness.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

We provide this service Monday to Friday.
If there are only certain days of the week or certain hours that you can volunteer for this role, please let us know and we will work around your availability.
