  • You'll work with a small group, providing guidance and support to help them develop their carving skills in a positive, inclusive environment.
  • All tools and materials will be provided, and we offer flexible hours to suit your schedule.

Requirements:
  • A solid understanding of Māori carving techniques, with a passion for preserving and sharing this cultural art form.
  • Ability to work with a small group of men, offering guidance, patience, and encouragement as they learn and develop their skills.
  • Strong communication skills to explain carving techniques clearly and effectively.
  • A warm and supportive approach, with the ability to create a positive, inclusive environment for learning.
  • Experience in mentoring or teaching is preferred but not essential.
  • Flexibility to commit to sessions based on your availability.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
