Waikeria Prison is seeking an experienced and passionate wood carver to help guide and up-skill a group of men housed in a special treatment unit at Waikeria Prison, just South of Te Awamutu. Time is flexible and all tools and materials are provided.

Requirements:

Understanding and knowledge of Maori carving. Experience and the ability to share with a small group of men.

The Department Of Corrections is still under the COVID vaccination mandate, so at this stage all volunteers will require vaccination, including booster, to work on site.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
