Cooking and making your money stretch on a shoestring budget is a key skill - if you have it, we'd love to hear from you! Passing on your knowledge, tips and tricks, will make a real impact for our learners.

Located within Waikeria Prison we are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our volunteer team. You will be savvy in knowing how to cook tasty and healthy family meals on a limited budget. You will be working with small groups of men, teaching them basic cooking skills using healthy ingredients.

Requirements:

You will be confident in the kitchen, and understand basic nutrition, however there is no requirement for formal qualifications - life skills are just as important.
You need to have a positive outlook on life and be able to communicate your ideas clearly. If you are enthusiastic about helping others learn some important life skills, then we'd welcome your application.

The Department Of Corrections is still under the COVID vaccination mandate, so at this stage all volunteers will require vaccination, including booster, to work on site.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
