We are looking for warm-hearted, female volunteer drivers, with a reliable vehicle, to provide transport for our women clients to enable them to access essential appointments for counselling, life skills classes at Shama, medical appointments and other local services. This would be on a regular or casual basis.
Volunteers drivers are expected to pick clients up from their home, take them to their appointments or classes at Shama, or to other services, and return them home again. Pick ups and appointments are with the Hamilton City boundary.

We are seeking female applicants only for this role as this meets the cultural requirements of our clients. You must be able to spare 3-5 hours a month. It is essential that you have a current and full New Zealand driver's license and that your vehicle is warranted, registered and insured.
You must have a friendly and caring manner, be able to maintain patient confidentiality and have empathy for vulnerable women.
The ability to establish rapport with ethnic women is essential.
Please note - you will need to supply two referees who we can contact to verify you have the skills and qualities required.
At least 3-5 hours a month which is negotiable. Ideally you need to be in a position to make at least a six month volunteering commitment.
