Board Secretary – Volunteering Waikato (Te Ohu Tuuao o Waikato)

Volunteering Waikato is seeking a passionate and dedicated Board Secretary to join our team. Experience in volunteering, the voluntary sector, or the community sector is a plus.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage calendar invites for Board meetings, committee meetings, and special events (e.g., Annual General Meeting).
  • Attend and support Board and committee meetings.
  • Participate in bi-monthly online meetings for the Investment Committee and Strategy & Policy Committee.
  • Ensure meeting materials are distributed to Board/committee members one week before scheduled meetings.

Meeting Schedule:

  • Board meetings: Bi-monthly, held on the final Wednesday evening of the month.
  • Location: Volunteering Waikato offices in central Hamilton or via Teams.
Requirements:
  • Attend and undertake secretary role at each Board of Trustees meeting.
  • Support Volunteering Waikato events and fundraising activities.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • Approximately 8 hours per month.
