We are searching for an enthusiastic person to join our volunteer team here at Waikeria. This person will be teaching a small group of men the art form of raranga, some may have some experience but most will not.

Requirements:

Ability to weave using flax, and understand cultural protocol related to this.
You will need your own transport as there is no public transport to the prison.

The Department Of Corrections is still under the COVID vaccination mandate, so at this stage all volunteers will require vaccination, including booster, to work on site.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

A session will be 2-3 hours in length, once a week, this can be on a day to suit the applicant
