The Bucket List Banquet – Volunteer Opportunity
Since 2013 (with a short break in 2020), the Bucket List Banquet has become an iconic Waikato event, raising vital funds for Hospice Waikato to support people and families during some of the most vulnerable times in their lives.

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us prepare for this special event by covering 1,000 chairs — a small but mighty task that helps create a beautiful and welcoming setting for our guests. We can’t do it without you!

What's Involved?

  • Covering 1,000 seats with fabric seat covers.
  • Around 1 to 1.5 hours of your time.
  • Help needed from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
  • Light physical activity involved (bending and light lifting).
  • Bring a friend! Many hands make light work and it's a great way to give back together.

Your support helps make the Bucket List Banquet a success — an event that raises over $580,000 each year to provide care, comfort, and support to those who need it most in our community.

Light refreshments will be available, and we’ll be making sure to celebrate and thank all our wonderful helpers on the day!

Requirements:
  • Reliability – turning up on time and ready to help.
  • Good level of fitness – the task involves bending, stretching, and light lifting.
  • Able to follow instructions carefully and work well as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude – bringing good energy to a busy but rewarding morning.
  • Attention to detail – helping ensure all the seats are covered neatly.
  • Friendly and approachable – working alongside other volunteers in a supportive environment.
Time commitment:
  • Date: Thursday, 15 May
  • Time: 9:30 AM to approximately 11:00 AM
  • Duration: Around 1 to 1.5 hours (it may be quicker depending on how many volunteers we have!)
