Driver - North Waikato

Ngāruawāhia, Taupiri, Huntly

Support people in the community whom have disadvantages in transport options to medical appointments. As the driver you will collect people from their homes and transport them to their appointments and then return them safely back again. You will have another volunteer supporting you as a passenger. The majority of the people attending appointments are at the Waikato Hospital and specialist around Hamilton but we also assist people to get to local doctor appointments. You must be able to co-ordinate your schedule to ensure everyone reaches their appointments on time. There are also practical tasks involved like keeping the shuttle clean and tidy.
You may be required to drive the manual gear shift van or the automatic car so need to be licenced to drive either. You can make a difference in the lives of those whom are disadvantaged with transport. You can sometimes be the only person to communicate with them as it can be their only outing for the week. You will meet new people and support our community to live inclusive, healthy and independent lives.
