Assist with the rehabilitation of offenders. We are looking for a someone with a passion for Te Reo Maori, who can offer a minimum of 1 session per week with a maximum of 5 students per class. Any resources can be provided, however you can also bring in your own text and resources - subject to approval. This role provides the opportunity for you to be part of the bigger picture, and can be hugely impactful as learners gain confidence, connection and fluency in Te Reo.
Please note - A car is required to get to site as it is not serviced by public transport.

Requirements:

You need to be fluent in Te Reo, Previous teaching experience preferred. Confident, adaptable to different personality types. We need volunteers who are reliable and encouraging.

The Department Of Corrections is still under the COVID vaccination mandate, so at this stage all volunteers will require vaccination, including booster, to work on site.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

One half day per week.
