You will be part of a team that provides a unique heritage rail experience to the public. This role has set tasks before arriving at the platform, and set preparations before departing each station. Our railway line has three bridges, one of which crosses over the highway. The train weaves through farm land, and follows the Ohinemuri River to Waikino Station Cafe.
Train driving is extremely rewarding for anyone with a passion to drive trains or operate heavy machinery. Being part of this team is packed full of positive experiences for young and old alike.
A strong interest in providing a smooth and comfortable journey for passengers on this daily service is a must.
All applicants must have a current Drivers License - no previous experience is necessary as full training is given.
This role carries a lot of responsibility; we are looking for conscientious people who can follow procedures and pay attention to detail.
Methodical, reliable, good team player who likes the routine a railway operation offers.
You need to be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and able to show proof of this.
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
