Healing Hoof Helper Volunteer Role:

Role Details:

  • Location: Waikato Equestrian Centre, Pukete.
  • Operating Hours: Monday to Friday, during school terms, from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with a break for a friendly morning tea.

Duties:

  • Lead a horse or sidewalk during our 4-5 sessions per morning, each lasting around 45 minutes.
  • No experience necessary—full training will be provided.

Flexible commitment:

  • If you can't commit to a full morning, we still want to hear from you!

Requirements:

Passionate about horses (no prior experience required – full training provided).

  • Enjoy working with adults and children with disabilities as well as collaborating with a supportive team of volunteers and coaches.
  • Reasonably fit and active, with a willingness to stay engaged.
  • Reliable transport to and from the venue.
  • Punctual and dependable, with a strong commitment to the role.
  • Opportunities for further training towards NZQA-recognized unit standards may be available.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • We operate Monday to Friday during school terms, from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.
  • Volunteers are ideally expected to participate in a full morning session, though shorter hours can be arranged if needed.
