Shed Volunteers - Cambridge

Cambridge

Shed volunteers are an integral part of Kids in Need — we literally couldn’t do it without them!
Our organisation supports children and families facing challenging circumstances by providing care packs filled with essential items and little comforts that make a world of difference.

We’re looking for volunteers with big hearts who want to support children and families as an active part of our team.

As a Shed Volunteer, you’ll help sort donations and, when needed, assist with making care packs. Working closely with our Operations team, you’ll ensure that every care pack is thoughtfully put together and consistently high-quality for the children and families who receive them.

Requirements:
  • Available on Mondays or Tuesdays, 9am – 12pm
  • Able to commit on a regular, long-term basis (about once a week for 6–12 months)
  • Comfortable with hands-on tasks like sorting donations and packing care packs
  • Happy to be on your feet for a few hours and occasionally help with some lifting
  • Reliable, punctual, and enjoy working as part of a friendly team
  • Willing to complete a casual interview and standard police check

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • 3hr shift once a week either on Monday or Tuesday morning
  • 9am - 12pm
  • Consistent, long-term commitment
  • Ideally 12 months or more (we'd love to have you stay longer)
