Morrinsville Gallery Volunteer Coordinator

Morrinsville

We’re looking for someone special to help us grow our volunteer team and make the Gallery an even more welcoming, vibrant place. Currently, we usually have one volunteer per shift, but we’d love to expand to two per shift, and your support will be key in making that happen.

Our Gallery hosts regular events and curates 3–4 exhibitions every month, all of which need enthusiastic volunteers. You’ll help coordinate and schedule helpers, ensuring our team runs smoothly and our visitors have a great experience.

With training and support provided, we hope this role could eventually grow into managing volunteer meetings every two months, running Health & Safety inductions, and reporting back to the Gallery Manager on any volunteer needs or issues.

Our team is a wonderful, friendly bunch, and we’d love to welcome a new volunteer into our Gallery family, someone organised, thoughtful, and ready to help keep the Gallery thriving.

Requirements:
  • Organised and detail-oriented, able to manage volunteer schedules and event planning
  • Confident communicator, friendly and approachable, with the ability to liaise effectively with volunteers and the Gallery team
  • Comfortable using Excel, Word, email, and social media for communications
  • Hands-on, proactive, and outgoing, someone who enjoys supporting a team
  • Willing to learn about Health & Safety inductions and volunteer procedures
  • Interest in the arts and community engagement is a bonus
Time commitment:
  • Weekdays, hours flexible and negotiable, drop in as often as suits you.
  • Regular or occasional help welcome; we can work around your schedule.
