Volunteer Fundraising Manager – Morrinsville Gallery

Morrinsville

Morrinsville Gallery is looking for someone who enjoys making connections and bringing ideas to life to join us as our Fundraising Manager. This role plays a key part in supporting the Gallery by helping secure funding and building relationships that keep our exhibitions, programmes, and events going.

You’ll spend time exploring new funding and grant opportunities, reconnecting with organisations and donors who have supported the Gallery before, and coming up with creative fundraising ideas, whether that’s an online campaign, a community event, or something a little different.

  • Maintain and rebuild relationships with past funders and donors
  • Develop creative fundraising ideas that invite community involvement
  • Find new ways to engage local businesses, supporters, and donors
  • Complete funding reports and accountability requirements
  • Report funding proposals and outcomes to the Board
  • Liaise with Matamata-Piako District Council when needed

This role would suit someone who enjoys working behind the scenes, building strong relationships, and helping ensure the Gallery remains a welcoming and active space for the community.

Requirements:
  • Experience in fundraising and writing grant or funding applications
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Comfortable researching funding opportunities and meeting deadlines
  • Able to build and maintain positive relationships with funders, donors, and partners
  • Organised, with the ability to manage applications, reporting, and follow-up
  • Confident working independently while also keeping the Board informed
  • Reliable and able to handle sensitive or confidential information
  • Interest in the arts and community organisations is a bonus
Time commitment:
  • Approximately 1–2 days per week
  • Flexible depending on funding deadlines and Gallery events
