Creative Marketing & Social Media Volunteer - Morrinsville Gallery

Morrinsville

Are you a creative communicator with a good eye, a way with words, and an interest in the arts? Morrinsville Gallery is looking for someone to help shape how we share our exhibitions, artists, and events with the wider community.

This role supports the Gallery’s day-to-day marketing and communications, helping keep our online presence current, engaging, and reflective of what’s happening in the Gallery.

You will assist with:

    (see: https://www.morrinsvillegallery.org.nz)
  • Updating exhibition pages and creating social media content
  • Supporting the advertising, marketing, and promotion of exhibitions and events
  • Assisting with the production of exhibition posters and promotional materials
  • Writing press releases and other promotional copy
  • Supporting exhibition and event organisation, including artist contracts, marketing, and promotion

The role can be done partly from home and partly at the Gallery, depending on the task, and may suit someone studying or working in marketing, communications, or a related creative field. An interest in 'The Arts' would be a real bonus.

Requirements:
  • Confident communicator with strong written English
  • Experience with social media and/or marketing
  • Creative and organised, able to manage multiple tasks
  • Comfortable using digital tools (e.g., social media platforms, website CMS, Canva, Mailchimp)
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in the arts is a bonus, but not essential
  • Willing to learn and take guidance where needed
Time commitment:
  • Part-time role, a few days per week, flexible depending on tasks and your availability
  • Work can be split between home and the Gallery as needed
  • Ideal for someone looking to gain experience or contribute consistently
