About Frankton Thunder / Kaupapa
Frankton Thunder is an annual automotive and community event held in Frankton, Hamilton. The event showcases classic and custom cars, motorcycles, military and special-interest vehicles, steampunk displays, live entertainment, food stalls, competitions such as Miss Frankton Thunder and Thunder Ink, and a charity toy run. It’s a free, family-friendly celebration designed to bring our community together — with all proceeds supporting charity.
The event spans Commerce Street and surrounding areas, with local businesses coming on board to welcome the crowds. Because of the size of our footprint and the road closures required, we rely on strong traffic management to keep everyone safe.
