We’re looking for a warm, reliable person to support our church by keeping the gardens tidy and welcoming. Alongside light gardening, this role also provides an opportunity to build friendships with local parishioners through friendly chats or neighbourly check-ins.

This is a casual, flexible role perfect for someone who enjoys being outdoors, loves connecting with others, and is happy to uphold basic Christian values in how they care for people and the space.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • General garden maintenance
  • Light weeding, trimming, and tidying garden beds
  • Watering plants as needed
  • Removing debris and keeping paths clear
  • Offering friendly conversation and companionship to elderly parishioners
Requirements:
  • Genuinely enjoys being outdoors and working in the garden
  • Someone who enjoys elderly company with patience
  • Honesty, trustworthy and reliable
  • Maintains a welcoming, respectful presence
  • Upholds the church’s values of kindness, respect, and care for others.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • 1-2 hours per week (or adhoc)
