Our Community Piano Project
The Remiano Charitable Trust rescues old pianos destined for landfill and gives them a new life as 'PlayMe' units for the community. What makes this project special is the creativity of local primary schools, who paint and decorate each piano — transforming it into both a musical instrument and a unique piece of community art.

Once restored and beautifully decorated, the pianos are placed in public spaces where anyone can sit down, play, and connect with others through music. These vibrant instruments become community touchpoints, sparking joy, creativity, and inspiration.

What's Involved:

  • Talking with local schools about the project and following up with email communication
  • Helping to identify suitable public locations for the pianos once they are ready
  • Sourcing local sponsors to support and maintain the pianos once placed
  • Travel mileage can be approved if necessary.

This is a chance to make a real difference, connect with schools and communities, and help transform rescued pianos into lasting community treasures.

Requirements:
  • Comfortable chatting with school staff and community members, and following up via email.
  • Able to coordinate a few different tasks, keep track of piano locations, and liaise with local sponsors.
  • Excited about music, creative projects, and connecting with the community.
  • Flexible with hours and happy to adapt as the project evolves.
  • Have access to a vehicle and willing to travel; mileage can be reimbursed if needed.
  • Reliable and committed to seeing tasks through, making sure pianos are placed and supported properly.
  • Enjoys working with others, including schools, sponsors, and the project team.

A Police background check is required for this role.
