Community Piano Project – Volunteer Marketing & Outreach Team
Our Community Piano Project - Dream Team
The Remiano Charitable Trust rescues old pianos that would otherwise end up in landfill and gives them a new life as 'PlayMe' units for the community. What makes this project so special is the creativity of local primary schools, who paint and decorate each piano, turning it into both a musical instrument and a unique piece of community art.
Once restored and beautifully decorated, the pianos are placed in public spaces where anyone can sit down, play, and connect with others through music. These vibrant instruments become places where the community can come together, sparking joy, creativity, and inspiration.
What's Involved
- Talking with local schools about the project and following up with emails
- Helping identify suitable public locations for the pianos once they are ready
- Working with local sponsors to support and maintain the pianos
- Assisting with transport, setup, and any practical needs for piano placement
- Stay informed about local events & community activities where the pianos could be displayed or played, helping to maximise community engagement.
- Travel mileage can be approved if needed
