We are sadly farewelling our amazing Op Shop Volunteer Manager and are in need of a new one to continue the wonderful work she has done for our community. This role is ideal for someone who not only has the know-how with managing and coordinating the retail operations of the shop, but also has the heart to listen and understand the needs of our diverse community, including oversight of our team of 23 wonderful volunteers.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate the weekly volunteer (about 23) roster for the Op Shop.
  • Provide leadership, empowerment and encouragement to volunteers.
  • Oversee daily operations: opening, closing, float, EFTPOS, reporting and cash balancing.
  • Manage donations: sorting, pricing, presentation.
  • Provide a short monthly update/report to Vestry.
  • Handle general administration.
  • Promote the mission of the shop through manaakitanga, hospitality and kindness.
  • Health and Safety reporting.
  • Ensure the shop is clean and safe.

Requirements:
  • Able to lead and manage a dedicated team of long-time volunteers.
  • Friendly with excellent communication skills.
  • Reliable, organised, trustworthy, honest and kind and a real team player.
  • Excellent time management
  • Experience in retail, customer service or volunteer coordination (desirable).
  • Preferably someone with Christian values (desirable).
  • Preferably confident with basic MS Office Word and Excel computer use (email, reporting, general admin - desirable).

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

URGENTLY REQUIRED

  • Shop hours are: 10am to 3pm (Monday to Friday) and Saturday 10am to 12:30pm, plus time to open and close the op shop.
  • Some flexibility may be required.
  • Occasionally, some extra hours required for other activities (but plenty of notice will be given).

We are looking for someone who can commit to the role long term with a trial run for a month.
