Social Media Support – Christmas Cheer Project - Cambridge

Cambridge

Help Tell the Story of Christmas Cheer
You don’t have to be on the ground to make a difference. Our social media volunteers play a key role in sharing the magic of Christmas Cheer with the wider community. Each year, we quietly help around 100 local families in Cambridge by providing Christmas dinners and toys, so children can wake up to a little magic on Christmas morning.

We’re looking for someone local who understands what community really means and can help keep this special tradition alive.

What this role involves:

  • Share updates and celebrate progress: Post cheerful updates to thank donors and show the project’s impact.
  • Flexible and remote: Most of the work can be done anywhere, anytime. Once posts are scheduled, your role is mostly maintaining and monitoring engagement.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys digital support, storytelling, and flexible hours, helping to amplify the project’s impact without being on-site. It’s not just about logistics — it’s about spreading care, reminding people they’re not forgotten, and showing that even in tough times, kindness still thrives.

If this speaks to you, we’d love to welcome you into the Christmas Cheer whānau.

Requirements:
  • Someone with a keen eye for storytelling and enjoys sharing uplifting updates online.
  • Local to Cambridge, with an understanding of the community.
  • Comfortable using social media platforms to schedule and post updates.
  • Reliable and responsive, keeping an eye on engagement and any follow-ups.
  • Able to commit a little time each week, with flexibility around your schedule — especially as life gets busy in the lead-up to Christmas.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • Most of the work can be done anywhere, anytime, making it easy to fit around your schedule.
  • We recommend a small, regular weekly commitment from now until Christmas to keep posts updated and engagement monitored.
  • Ideal for someone who can help for at least 6–8 weeks during the lead-up to Christmas.
