Get your hands dirty for a great cause at Alma Brotherhood Court!
Help us create a safe and welcoming space for the residents of Alma Brotherhood Court retirement village. Habitat for Humanity Central Region manages this community in Kihikihi and is seeking passionate volunteers to join a rewarding one-day working bee on Saturday 23 August. This is a great chance to get outdoors, meet others, and contribute directly to a community that benefits from your hands-on support.

Volunteers will assist with key maintenance tasks, including:

  • Preparing decks for painting by cleaning and readying surfaces
  • Carrying out garden maintenance such as weeding, pruning, and general tidying
  • Supporting the overall upkeep to help maintain a safe and pleasant living environment for residents

Your efforts will help keep the village a comfortable, attractive home for its residents. By contributing your time, you’ll be supporting a community that truly values your help.

Requirements:
  • No prior experience is necessary—just a positive attitude and a willingness to get involved.
  • Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy closed-toe shoes suitable for outdoor work
  • Be able to perform light to moderate physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Follow safety guidelines and work cooperatively as part of a team
  • Tools and equipment will be supplied on site.
Time commitment:
  • One-day commitment on Saturday, 23 August 2025
  • From 9:30 am to 4:00 pm (with breaks included)
