Join the Hato Hone St John Mercury Bay Area Committee – Give Back to Your Community
Love Mercury Bay? Want to do something meaningful for your community?
We’re looking for locals with heart to join the Hato Hone St John Mercury Bay Area Committee – a group of community-minded people helping shape local wellbeing, support volunteers, and drive initiatives that make a real difference.

This is a unique opportunity to bring your voice, your skills, and your local knowledge to the table. Whether you’re already active in the community or looking for a new way to contribute, we’d love to have you involved.

What You'll Be Part Of:
We’re here to support Hato Hone St John’s work in the Mercury Bay – not just emergency care, but the everyday mahi that helps our people live healthier, safer lives. As a committee member, you’ll play a key role in guiding and supporting that mahi locally.

As an Area Committee Member, You Will:

  • Support local community health and wellbeing initiatives
  • Work with other community leaders and organisations to connect, collaborate, and find solutions
  • Help promote and support Hato Hone St John volunteers in the region
  • Take on a key portfolio role within the committee
  • Represent your community’s needs and help shape local health equity initiatives

Who We’re Looking For:
We welcome interest from anyone passionate about making a difference – whether you’re a long-time local, a young professional, or someone with deep iwi or hapū connections. If you’ve got local insight, a bit of time, and the desire to give back, you’ll be a great fit.

You Don’t Need Experience – Just Heart
No previous committee or governance experience? That’s totally fine. What matters most is your connection to the community and your willingness to get stuck in.

Our Community Engagement team will give you all the support and guidance you need to thrive in the role.

Requirements:

We’re looking for people who:
