Are you passionate about vintage fashion, creative styling, and breathing new life into preloved treasures? We’re looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Vintage Stylist & Creative Merchandiser at our thriving op shop!

What you'll do:

  • Curate and style our shop’s displays to create eye-catching, inspiring spaces that tell a story.
  • Select and showcase vintage gems, clothing, and unique finds with flair and imagination.
  • Assist customers in discovering the perfect pieces that match their style and personality.
  • Collaborate on promotional campaigns and events to spotlight our shop’s offerings.
  • Ensure the shop is always a welcoming and vibrant environment for shoppers.

What we’re looking for:

  • A keen eye for vintage trends and an appreciation for sustainable fashion.
  • A creative mind with a talent for visual merchandising and styling.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to connect with customers and understand their needs.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with a can-do attitude.

Previous experience in styling, merchandising, or retail (preferred but not essential).

Requirements:

Knowledge of Fashion History and Trends:

  • Familiarity with vintage clothing eras, styles, and trends.
  • Passion for sustainable and ethical fashion practices.
  • Creativity and Visual Merchandising Skills:
  • Ability to design compelling displays that attract and inspire shoppers.
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and innovative styling.

Customer Service Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with customers.
  • Experience in delivering personalized style advice.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • Previous experience in retail, styling, or merchandising (preferred).
  • Background in op shop or thrift store work (an advantage).

Technical and Practical Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of pricing, labeling, and inventory management.
  • Competence in using social media for promoting the shop (optional, but helpful).
  • Team-Oriented and Proactive Attitude:
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • A self-motivated approach to problem-solving and taking initiative.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • 2-4 hours a week, for at least ONE day a week (during open hours)

Shop Open Hours
Wednesday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3.30 PM;
First Saturday of the month, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
