Are you passionate about education and making a difference in someone's life? We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team as Literacy Tutors. This role involves providing one-on-one tutoring to adult learners in the criminal justice system who are eager to improve their reading and writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-on-one literacy tutoring sessions.
  • Develop personalised lesson plans tailored to the learner's needs.
  • Track and report on the learner's progress.

Requirements:
  • Strong command of the English language.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident, calm, patient and empathetic with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Previous tutoring, mentoring or teaching experience would be an advantage.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • Can commit to a few hours per week, flexible.
  • Dependent on individual assignment.
