As a Sewing Tutor, you will lead engaging and practical sewing sessions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching basic to advanced sewing techniques to participants.
  • Assisting students in learning how to use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques.
  • Creating lesson plans and projects suitable for different skill levels.
  • Encouraging creativity and confidence in students.
  • Ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Supporting community events by contributing to textile-related projects.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in sewing, including machine and hand sewing.
  • Experience in teaching or mentoring (preferred but not required).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for skill-sharing and community development

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

2-4 hours per week (in-person sessions, Saturdays).
