Music Tutor (Guitar & African Drum) - Hamilton

As a Music Tutor, you will be responsible for leading engaging and educational music sessions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching basic to intermediate guitar skills to participants.
  • Providing instruction in African drumming techniques and rhythms.
  • Preparing lesson plans that are engaging and accessible to all skill levels.
  • Encouraging and motivating students to develop their musical abilities.
  • Creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Assisting with community events where music can be incorporated.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in playing the guitar and African drums.
  • Experience in teaching or mentoring (preferred but not required).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for music and cultural education.

Must pass a background check to ensure the safety and integrity of our programmes.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

2-4 hours per week (Group Session, Saturdays).
