Join Our Predator-Free Volunteer Team in Cambridge!
We're looking for dedicated volunteers to help maintain trap lines in Cambridge, including Soldiers Track in Leamington (between the two bridges) and around Leamington Reserve-Cemetery, around the Te Koo Utu Lake among other areas. This role is perfect for those who enjoy regular walks and live nearby.

  • Make a Difference: If you're passionate about protecting native wildlife, including birds, bats, lizards, and insects, this is a fantastic way to contribute to the cause.
  • Flexible Roster: Volunteers are scheduled every 3-4 weeks. During your assigned week, you'll rebait traps with non-toxic bait (such as peanut butter), remove any predator remains, and reset the traps at least once. Each session takes about 1 to 1.5 hours.
  • No Experience Needed: We’ll provide all the necessary supplies and full training, including non-toxic bait.
  • Smartphone Required: Volunteers will use the Trap.NZ app to locate traps and log catches. A moderate fitness level is recommended.

Interested? - If you'd like to learn more or get involved, please reach out!

  • Able to access and maintain predator traps
Time commitment:
  • Around 1.5 hours every 2-3 weeks, on a rotating schedule.
