The Hamilton Arts Festival Toi Ora ki Kirikiroa is a vibrant celebration of the arts in the magical setting of Hamilton Gardens, local theatres, and around the central city. We’re showcasing a diverse range of performances, from music and theatre to comedy, cabaret, and more.

Volunteer Role – Welcome Wagon Team:

  • Be the first point of contact for Festival audiences as they arrive at Hamilton Gardens.
  • Provide visitors with festival information and assist security with bag checks.
  • Work from 4:30 pm until the Festival bar closes (usually between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm).
  • A 20-minute meal break will be provided, with supper included.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with other tasks as needed, such as:
  • Conducting audience surveys.
  • Waste management and sorting.
  • Ticket checks.
  • Cleaning and general event support.

We’re looking for confident, friendly, and self-directed individuals to help make the Festival an unforgettable experience!

Requirements:

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Strong customer service skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • A positive, can-do attitude with a welcoming smile.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
  • Availability for a minimum of two shifts throughout the festival.
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential for a smooth event experience.
Time commitment:

Shift Details:

  • Shifts run each night of the festival from 4:30 pm until the Festival bar closes (usually between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm).
  • A 20-minute meal break will be provided during your shift, with supper included.

Commitment:

  • Volunteers are required to commit to a minimum of two shifts over the 2025 Festival on the following dates:

  • Sun, 23 Feb
  • Wed, 26 Feb
  • Thu, 27 Feb
  • Fri, 28 Feb
  • Sat, 1 Mar
  • Sun, 2 Mar
