  • The Trust is responsible for the erection of the Christmas Tree in Garden Place, the associated Christmas Tree Lighting Concert and the annual Christmas Parade in the Hamilton CBD.

  • The Hamilton Christmas Charitable Trust was established in January 2004 to ensure that the annual Christmas Parade in Hamilton remained a permanent feature of the Christmas calendar.

  • In July 2011 the Trust was also gifted the Christmas tree that stands throughout December each year in Garden Place, Hamilton. A lighting concert event is held on the night that the lights are switched on for the first time.

  • The Trust promotes the theme of Christmas for the benefit of all the people of Hamilton and its environs through entertainment and enjoyment, with particular emphasis on entertainment for children and by providing all children with platforms to perform. This is achieved by delivering the main Christmas events over December.

  • We are particularly interested in individuals with governance and fundraising experience who can bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to enhance our annual events.
  • A passion for Christmas and the joy it brings to the community is essential!
Time commitment:

Commitment to Monthly Meetings:

  • Attend one meeting per month, typically held on the first Tuesday, starting at 5:15 PM.
  • Meetings typically last 1.5 hours.
