We are currently seeking individuals or couples based in Waikato to become a Kia Puāwai caregiver in our foster care programmes. If you have the space in your home, time to invest in caring for a young person, and would like to help them learn and succeed – this is a hugely rewarding role.
As a caregiver with Kia Puāwai, we offer you:
If you are interested in exploring what a caregiver role could look like for you, get in touch!
We will kōrero more with you and support you through the application process.
As a caregiver, you will need:
No experience is needed but previous experience working with tamariki and rangatahi is an advantage.
We have different foster care programmes in the Waikato:
In our specialised caregiver programme you will support a rangatahi for approximately 12 months.
In our foster care service we provide short, medium and long-term care depending on the young person's needs.
Our team will support you and meet with you weekly while you have a young person living with you.
Training and meetings will often occur during the day/week, so some flexibility to be available to attend is essential.
We need caregivers who are able to provide stable and consistent support for our tamariki and rangatahi, so ideally, we are looking for someone who is willing to commit to an ongoing caregiver role.
Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below.
We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
