Volunteer Gallery Assistant - Nancy Caiger Gallery – The Meteor, Kirikiriroa
The Meteor Theatre, operated by One Victoria Trust, supports all forms of creative and performing arts that benefit the community. Our vision is to enhance the arts in Kirikiriroa (Hamilton) and Aotearoa by providing a vibrant venue for: Theatre, music, dance, Poetry, exhibitions, workshops, Comedy, improv – and more!

Located inside The Meteor, the Nancy Caiger Gallery is a light-filled exhibition space showcasing work by emerging and established Waikato artists.

What You'll Do as a Volunteer Gallery Assistant - Main responsibilities include:

  • Providing manaakitanga (care/support) and great customer service
  • Minding the exhibition space and ensuring a calm, respectful environment
  • Assisting with general health & safety, including fire evacuation if needed
  • Supporting with light admin tasks
  • Helping with general housekeeping

Requirements:

We’re Looking For Volunteers Who:

  • Have good communication skills
  • Are punctual and have strong timekeeping skills
  • Have an interest in the community and creative arts
  • Bring customer service experience (advantageous, but not essential)
Time commitment:
  • Gallery hours: 11am–2pm, Wednesday–Saturday
  • Average shifts: 2–4 shifts per month, depending on your availability
  • Shifts: You’ll be scheduled on your rostered day between 11am–2pm
