Garden Enthusiast – Help Us Grow

Thames

Join Us as a Volunteer Gardener at the Thames Community Centre!
We’ve been lucky to have a wonderful volunteer gardener who turned a small lawn into a stunning garden of mixed ornamentals. As they head off on new adventures, we’re looking for another garden-loving volunteer to help us keep it thriving.

The garden is low-maintenance, but it does need occasional weeding, watering, trimming, and replanting. Just an hour or two every fortnight is all it takes to keep it looking beautiful. You’ll be helping create a welcoming space for everyone in the community.

Don’t worry if you’re not a professional—gardening tools and support are provided, and we’re always here to offer guidance. You can work at your own pace and enjoy the satisfaction of nurturing the garden.

If you enjoy spending time outdoors and have a passion for gardening, we’d love to have you as part of our team. Come make a difference in our community garden and meet like-minded people!

Requirements:
  • Some gardening experience and knowledge to help maintain a beautiful, low-maintenance garden.
  • A small amount of time available regularly (around 1–2 hours every fortnight) to keep the garden in good shape.
  • A love for working outdoors and a passion for creating a welcoming space for the community.
  • Attention to detail for keeping the garden looking its best.
  • Flexibility to work independently and at your own pace, with support provided if needed.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • One hour per fortnight to help keep the garden in good shape.
