Join the Crew: Be part of a regular group dedicated to recreating a lush 'Kahikatea forest' in the heart of the city!

  • Hands-on Conservation: Help with planting native plants, mulching, and releasing plants into the wild.
  • Work with the Community: Partner up with local groups like Kirikiriroa Marae, Knighton School, and environmental organizations to create a thriving mixed podocarp forest. Think Kahikatea, Matai, Rimu, Totara, and more!
  • Build a Green Connection: Help establish a ‘bush corridor’ linking Hamilton City to the river—creating a green, vibrant space for all.
  • Special Grove of Harakeke: Get your hands on the ‘Rene Orchiston’ collection of Harakeke/flax—perfect for those interested in Maori traditional weaving.
  • Make a Difference: By joining, you’ll play a key role in urban restoration in Hamilton City, contributing positively to the environment and the community!
Requirements:
  • Long-Sleeved Shirt: Stay comfy and protected while you work!
  • Long Pants: For extra coverage and comfort on your adventure.
  • Covered Shoes: Perfect for all the muck and fun ahead.
  • Sunhat: Keep cool and shielded from the sun.
  • Raincoat: Be prepared—no weather can stop you!
