  • "We chat over a cuppa, watch Tipping Point, do crossword puzzles, and sometimes even craft together. I really enjoy my visits and know the lady I visit appreciates it, as she rarely has visitors beyond family."
  • "We talk, go out for coffee, shopping, and stroll around the garden... I love doing this and feel like I get just as much from it as the client."
  • Our volunteers come from all walks of life, but they share one thing in common: warmth, kindness, and a desire to make a real difference in the lives of older people. It’s a wonderful opportunity to share stories, create lasting connections, and brighten someone’s day!
Requirements:

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Friendly, trustworthy, and reliable—your company will be truly appreciated!
  • Great communicator—excellent spoken English and a love for chatting!
  • A passion for talking to older people and sharing stories
  • Good listener—you’ll make someone feel heard and valued
  • Must be over 18 to apply

A couple of things to note:

  • This role isn’t for work experience, so no references will be provided from the organisation or the older person.
  • Your time is a priceless gift, and it’ll mean the world to someone!

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • Just one hour a week, at a regular time that works for both you and your new friend—easy, flexible!
