We have some exciting roles just waiting for talented volunteers (LIKE YOU!) to jump in! Whether you’ve always dreamed of being part of the Christmas Parade or simply love the festive season, this is your chance to shine!

Here’s what you can get involved with:

🎭 Dressing Up Characters: Help bring our parade characters to life!
🤝 Public Liaison: Engage with the crowd and assist with float entries.
🚶‍♀️ Parade Support: Work with section leaders and walk alongside the floats during the parade.

Requirements:

Exciting Volunteer Roles for the Christmas Parade!

  • Drivers: Must hold a full driver's license and be skilled in towing and backing a trailer.
  • Character Wearers: Should love entertaining children and crowds—no claustrophobia, please! We’re looking for kids' costumes for ages 6 to 16.
  • Float Minders: Responsible for ensuring the float is complete and ready, supporting the driver and characters throughout the parade.

Important Reminders:

  • Wear sensible shoes, sunscreen, and a sunhat!
  • If you're assisting with costume dressing, opt for light clothing, like shorts and a t-shirt.
  • Most roles will provide a branded t-shirt and hi-vis vest.

Additional Notes:

  • Maintain a neat appearance (long hair should be tied up), and bring your friendly disposition!
  • Support personnel should be prepared to walk the length of Anglesea St.
  • Be ready to help with some breakdown after the event.

Time commitment:

Your time commitment will depend on the role you’re assigned or wish to try.

  • Most roles require a maximum of 2-3 hours.
  • A couple of positions may have you engaged from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • You’ll also need to attend a safety briefing on the day, which will likely fit within your scheduled hours.
