Together for Waikato — Volunteer This Daffodil Day
Our volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, whether they’ve been personally affected by cancer or simply want to give back. What unites them is a shared commitment to supporting those in our community who are facing cancer.

This year, Daffodil Day falls on:

  • Friday, 29th August
  • with some centres also needing support on Saturday, 30th August.

By volunteering just two hours at a street collection site, you’re helping:

  • Make sure local families facing cancer have the support and resources they need
  • Keep vital services running
  • Fund research that benefits everyone in our community

Your role is simple but powerful:

  • Greet people with kindness
  • Share the story of the Daffodil
  • Collect donations

No experience is needed — we’ll be with you every step of the way to help you feel confident and connected.

Every dollar you collect stays right here in the Waikato, helping us:

  • Provide essential support services to local families
  • Fund vital cancer research that could save lives

This is more than volunteering — it’s a chance to stand alongside your community and contribute to something that really matters.

If you feel called to help, please get in touch with us. Your time and heart can mean the world to those facing cancer.

Requirements:
  • Someone who is friendly and outgoing, making others feel comfortable.
  • A person who is honest and trustworthy in handling donations.
  • Reliable and punctual, committed to your volunteer time.
  • Comfortable and confident interacting with the public
Time commitment:
  • 2–3 hour shifts
  • Friday 29 or Saturday 30 August
  • Flexible times available across both days
